Caravan Salon Düsseldorf: CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF: Opening up New Worlds

» Caravanning is more than just a holiday – it’s a way of life. It means setting off whenever you like, discovering new places and experiencing the world in your own way. It is precisely this feeling that can be experienced at CARAVAN SALON like nowhere else. At the same time, Düsseldorf is the place where the international caravanning industry comes together and where innovations are unveiled and brought to life for the first time. From 28 August (Preview Day) to 6 September 2026, the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre will become the heart of this unique world. Anyone wishing to experience, compare or rediscover caravanning simply cannot miss CARAVAN SALON.
“Especially at a time when many people are making more conscious decisions about how and on what they spend their time and money, caravanning is becoming increasingly popular. It offers flexible breaks, spontaneous short trips or long journeys – and the freedom to tailor your holiday to your own preferences. This is precisely where CARAVAN SALON comes in: it doesn’t just showcase products, it opens up real possibilities. Visitors can compare, try things out, find inspiration and discover the solutions that suit their lifestyle,” says Stefan Koschke, Director of CARAVAN SALON.
At the same time, exhibitors are harnessing the unique appeal of CARAVAN SALON to showcase their ideas, products and innovations exactly where they have the greatest impact: through direct interaction with people. “We don’t just showcase products; in our exhibition halls, visitors can experience caravanning in all its diversity: vehicles, technology and accessories, as well as travel destinations, campsites and parking spaces. In Düsseldorf, manufacturers and suppliers meet a highly interested, affluent target audience as well as international industry experts. This unique combination makes CARAVAN SALON the key venue for emotionally engaging with innovations and embedding them for the long term – with end customers as well as business partners. “This is where relevance is created – and where decisions are made,” adds Koschke.
CARAVAN SALON: A driving force for industry
In 2026, CARAVAN SALON will once again provide crucial impetus for industry and offer guidance in a dynamic market environment. Under the motto “CARAVAN SALON opens up new worlds”, the 65th edition of the leading trade fair will showcase just how diverse and innovative mobile travel is today – and where the industry is heading. Across 15 halls, the community can look forward to a unique selection of motorhomes, caravans and campervans – complemented by accessories, technical equipment, fittings, detachable parts, rooftop tents and mobile homes. In addition, the CARAVAN SALON showcases new travel destinations, as well as campsites and parking areas, inspiring visitors to discover the world in their own way. At the same time, the trade show is strengthening its role as an international platform for industry professionals and, with a high-quality conference program in the B2B sector, provides a space for exchange, new ideas, and concrete business relationships.
Caravanning is very much in vogue
Daniel Onggowinarso, Executive Director of the Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD), explains why caravanning is becoming increasingly important to many people: “In times that many people perceive as uncertain and fast-paced, there is a noticeable growing need for balance and intentional breaks from everyday life. Vacation has long been more than just relaxation; it stands for freedom, closeness to nature, and the opportunity to shape one’s own time independently. This is exactly what makes caravanning so attractive to more people. At the same time, against the backdrop of current crises, the cost factor is also becoming increasingly important. Caravanning offers a clear advantage here over many other forms of vacation, as both the itinerary and the duration of the trip can be planned flexibly and tailored to the individual budget. This allows travelers to maintain full control over their vacation costs even in uncertain times and to adjust their plans at any time. Just how much caravanning captures the spirit of the times is particularly evident at CARAVAN SALON. As the industry’s largest and most important trade show, it is not only the annual highlight for the industry but also the place where the full diversity of mobile travel comes to life. Nowhere else is the range of vehicles, accessories, services, and travel inspiration as comprehensive as in Düsseldorf. Year after year, the trade show delights visitors of all ages and appeals to experienced caravaning enthusiasts as well as newcomers.
New themed areas set trends and provide guidance
CARAVAN SALON is consistently refining its exhibition layout to provide visitors with even clearer guidance amid the vast array of products. New, clearly defined themed areas help visitors identify trends and navigate the exhibition more quickly.
One highlight is the new off-road area in Halls 16 and 17, where off-road vehicles and presentations for particularly self-sufficient travel are shown together. Also new is the dedicated roof tent area in Hall 7a, which picks up on the ongoing trend toward flexible and compact forms of travel and shows a wide range of models and innovations.
Well-established themed areas such as Equipment & Outdoor (Hall 3), Travel & Nature (Hall 7) and Technology & Components (Halls 13 and 14) will remain in their usual locations and continue to provide a clear structure within the exhibition programme. Hall 9 remains unavailable due to ongoing refurbishment work.
