Dresden & Leipzig Trip 2025 – 23 September 2025
On September 23, 2025, we were greeted in Dresden by bright sunshine – perfect weather for a day out. Using public transportation, we made our way to the famous Blue Wonder (Blaues Wunder), the historic bridge connecting the Dresden districts of Loschwitz and Blasewitz. There, we crossed the Elbe River and enjoyed the sparkling water and the picturesque surroundings.
Our next adventure involved a bit of fun with local transport: we took the funicular railway up and down once, before riding the suspension railway back up again. The combination of both modes of transport offered not only different perspectives but also a special charm for those who enjoy technology and panoramic views.
After these rides, we visited Lingnerschloss and Schloss Albrechtsberg. Both palaces captivate visitors with their elegant architecture, expansive parks, and stunning views over Dresden and the Elbe. The serene atmosphere of the palaces offered a peaceful break and a chance to experience the city’s beauty from a new perspective.
The perfect way to end the day was a visit to the Dresden Dairy – Gebrüder Pfund, arguably the most beautiful dairy shop in the world. With its magnificent tiles, intricate details, and wide selection of dairy products and specialties, the visit was truly unforgettable. Here, we not only indulged our taste buds but also admired the craftsmanship that has made this place famous worldwide.
Thus concluded a sunny and varied day in Dresden – full of sights, technical adventures, and culinary highlights.
