Dresden & Leipzig Trip 2025 – 27 September 2025
After spending the rainy September 25, 2025 exploring the exhibitions at the Dresden Zwinger, our journey continued on September 26, 2025. We took the Regional Express of Deutsche Bahn from Dresden to Leipzig to explore Saxony’s second major city.
On September 27, we thoroughly explored Leipzig and captured many impressions photographically. The city offered a fascinating mix of history, architecture, and modern highlights. Our main discoveries included:
* The historic city center of Leipzig with its lively atmosphere
* The impressive Völkerschlachtdenkmal, a monument commemorating the Battle of Leipzig in 1813
* A classic Trabant, reminiscent of the former GDR
* The Mustermesse Signet, symbolizing the Leipzig Trade Fair
* The magnificent Russian Memorial Church
* The Federal Administrative Court, an impressive building of justice
* The New City Hall, which we also visited inside
* Johann Sebastian Bach at the St. Thomas Church, the heart of the city’s musical heritage
* The significant St. Nicholas Church
Of course, there were many more corners and details to discover – Leipzig truly has a lot to offer. From historic architecture to cultural landmarks and modern cityscapes, this day was a perfect mix for photography and culture enthusiasts.
A visit to Leipzig is definitely worthwhile, as the city surprises with its diverse attractions, rich history, and charming atmosphere.
