Dresden & Leipzig Trip 2025 – 28 September 2025

On September 28, 2025, we began our day in Leipzig with a canal tour departing from the Klingerweg Boathouse. With calm waters and pleasant weather, we enjoyed the city from a completely different perspective – from the water.

Our journey first took us along the Weiße Elster towards the Karl-Heine Canal, known for its historical significance: this is where the well-known TV show “Riverboat” used to be recorded. As we glided leisurely along the waterways, we were able to take in the picturesque riversides and some of Leipzig’s more hidden corners at a relaxed pace.

On the way back, we passed the Palmengarten Weir before returning to the Klingerweg Boathouse. The canal tour offered not only a peaceful few hours but also a wonderful opportunity to experience Leipzig from a quieter, lesser-known side.

In this way, the canal tour became a pleasant and relaxing experience that enriched our stay in Leipzig in a special way.
