Dresden & Leipzig Trip 2025 – 29 September 2025
September 29, 2025 was dedicated entirely to a visit to the Leipzig Zoo. From the moment we entered, it became clear why it is considered one of the most beloved zoos in Germany. We were especially impressed by Gondwanaland, the vast tropical world that makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into a real jungle. The humid air, exotic plants, and freely roaming animals create an atmosphere that makes you almost forget you’re still in the middle of Leipzig.
But the zoo has much more to offer beyond Gondwanaland. Its various themed worlds are beautifully designed, natural, and full of surprises. Whether African wildlife, Asian landscapes, or native species – there is always something new to discover.
We spent the entire day at the zoo and still felt that we hadn’t seen everything. By the end, we were quite exhausted – partly from all the walking, and partly from the sheer number of impressions we gathered.
A visit to the Leipzig Zoo is definitely worthwhile and will remain a memorable highlight.
