Dresden & Leipzig Trip 2025 – 30 September 2025
On September 30, 2025, I had to set out on a photo tour through Leipzig on my own for health-related reasons. Despite the unusual situation, the day turned into a truly special experience.
My route first took me past the New Town Hall to the Federal Administrative Court. This time, I took the opportunity to visit the impressive building from the inside as well. The architecture is striking, and the accompanying videos about the building's history are very informative and well worth watching.
From there, I continued on to St. Peter's Church and then to the Schola Thomana, the school of the St. Thomas Choir. After a short break, I took the tram to the main station, where I photographed the imposing front façade.
Next, I headed to Gerberstraße to capture the stone palm trees – an interesting photo motif, especially under a bright blue sky. My walk then led me past the Michaeliskirche to the Gohliser Schlösschen, idyllically situated in a small park.
Afterwards, I took the tram back to the city center, where I simply wandered around and discovered many more lovely subjects worth photographing.
To round off my tour, I went up to the MDR tower (“Steiler Zahn”) and took a few more shots from above of places I had photographed earlier at street level.
Even though I was on my own that day, it still turned out to be a wonderful and fulfilling experience that I look back on with great fondness.
