The DUCKOMENTA® in Duisburg

Discovering new worlds

Like so many things that later turn out to have serious consequences, the story of our ducks seems to start quite harmlessly...
Then one day, as if by chance, fossils turn up, artefacts of ancient cultures, oil paintings, sketches, sculptures that were thought to have been lost. A group of young artists begins to collect the finds. Over the years, the archives fill up and the group of artists has the fun of exhibiting the whole thing under the title "The DUCKOMENTA". The public finds great pleasure in the ducks and so the ever-growing exhibition makes its way through many cities and museums. But it is to take years before people seriously ask: Who are these ducks anyway, and where do they live today?

A phase of intensive research begins. Further evidence of their existence is unearthed and at some point the pieces of the puzzle come together in a flash of insight: these creatures have lived among us since the beginning of time. Whether as "Anas neanderthalensis" (Neanderthal duck) or as "Anas interstellaris" (space duck).
And it seems that they have intervened in the fate of mankind more often than general historiography might admit.

With scientific meticulousness, the DUCKOMENTA attempts to record the cultural history of this duck clan, the "InterDucks".
the "InterDucks". The "interDucks" obviously left our world again many years ago. But the research continues and their story is not yet finished...
